Curling Basics
The Objective
Curling is played on ice, where two teams take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones toward a circular target called the house.
Sweeping & Delivery
Team members use brushes to sweep the ice in front of the stone. This reduces friction, allowing the stone to travel farther and stay on its path longer.
Etiquette & Spirit
The 'Spirit of Curling' is a long-standing tradition of sportsmanship and mutual respect, where players shake hands before and after every game.
Required Gear

Proper Footwear
Clean indoor running shoes are essential. Avoid wearing outdoor shoes on the ice to keep the surface pristine. Professional curling shoes with sliders are recommended as you progress.

Warm Layers
The rink is chilly! Dress in stretchy, breathable layers. We suggest track pants or leggings (no jeans) and a light fleece or sweater to stay warm while remaining mobile.

Brooms & Sliders
New members are welcome to use our club-provided brooms and step-on sliders during their first clinics. Once you're hooked, our Pro Shop has everything you need to gear up.
